5 Proven Facts Why It Is Really Hard To Get Over Your First Love!

That time may be long gone, but it’s still fresh in memory, probably, always will be. Years pass and you think you’ve moved on and suddenly, it all flashes across your mind, vividly, like it was just yesterday. That’s when you realize that their presence has been lingering on somewhere in your mind all this while. Maybe what they say is actually true. Maybe we never really get over our first love.

Your heart still sinks every time you think of them, of what went wrong, of what it was like, of what it could have been. The thought of having let ‘the one’ slip away still hurts. Then, life does its thing and you meet this incredible woman who completely sweeps you off your feet. Yes, you’re in love. Again. But it’s not the same. You love her, you really do but love isn’t the same anymore. Something’s changed. You’re having the best time of your life, but your mind keeps going back to that time when you fell in love for the first time.

1. Because It Was The First Time You Actually Felt Love
That was the first time you looked at someone and felt this unexplainable urge in your system with your heart pounding so loud and fast, you were surprised that people couldn’t actually see it beating out of your chest. That was the first time you discovered that constant state of delirium that transported you to an entirely different world till you no longer knew what was real. That was the first time you discovered madness inside; the first time you felt so much excitement, you couldn’t contain it. No matter how many girls you kissed before and after, your first real kiss was with that girl you fell madly in love with.

2. Because It Took Away A Part Of You With It
That was the first time in life you didn’t know what you were doing and still couldn’t help falling for it. That was the first time you wanted nothing more in the world than just being with them. But as they walked away, they took all your firsts from you. You’re happy where you are today, but the hollowness still haunts you. What’s gone will never come back. Try as you may, love won’t ever feel as exciting and exhilarating as it did the first time.

3. Because That Innocence Is Lost
First love is silly, crazy, wild. It’s unrealistic, even foolish. It’s like a bird discovering it can fly. That’s first love. It’s adventurous and fearless. You don’t plan it, you don’t control it, you don’t force it. You close your eyes and just take the plunge. Somewhere between ‘growing up’ and ‘moving on’, that innocence is lost. You can no longer love that fearlessly again. You’re not that person anymore. You ‘look’ for love now. You become cautious. You begin to weigh people, emotions, and relationships. You can’t be that child again. The dream is over; love is not the same anymore. And deep inside, your heart longs that freedom, that spontaneity, that madness.

4. Because It Changed You Forever
It’s the first time your heart broke. It showed you the dream and then woke you up suddenly. It made you fall, and fall hard. It turned you into this pragmatic being who weighs every possibility, analyses every person, believes in only what he sees, thinks a hundred times before loving anyone again. It made you ‘wiser’, more careful. It bore a hole in your soul that simply refused to fill itself.

 5. Because There Is No Love Greater Than Unrequited Love
And lastly, no matter what you tell yourself, what you try to make of it, it will always be ‘the unrequited love’. You always thought it would work out, but it didn’t. You always thought they were the one and you’ll probably never get over the fact that it still didn’t work out. It’ll always haunt you. You’d eventually move on with life, but seeing them with someone else will never feel right. The ‘what if’ will always haunt.

Jaguar Finally Responds To Prezzo’s Diss On KTN

Popular Kenyan singer Jaguar has by now watched the weird interview that went down last night on KTN. The sexy Betty Kyalo hosted a visibly drunk AF Prezzo. The rapper took time to show off his bling and Louboutins even bossing the cameraman to get a shot of his tattoo.
He was meant to be promoting his song but staged what came across as sheer immaturity and outright disgrace to himself and his family. After a dragged interview, Betty asked him what he thought of fellow artiste Jaguar and what Prezzo said will shock you: He DOES NOT know who Jaguar is. He went ahead to throw shades — saying that he only got to know Jaguar when he spotted him taking selfies with the President.

Jaguar has since taken to social media to respond to the diss, which he addressed like a man. He even offered to take Prezzo to rehab:
“Alot of people have asked that I respond to @prezzo254 … If it were 5 years ago I would have made time to beef around with him… As a director at NACADA i am busy addressing issues affecting the youth in our country. What Prezzo is going through is what we are fighting… To save Kenyans from Prezzo, The best I can do is offer him a complimentary at one of our rehabilitation facilities in Nairobi or Mombasa . He’s free to choose where he prefers to go.”

Betty Kyallo Finally Responds To Prezzo's Behaviour On KTN

Betty Kyalo conducted what could honestly be the worst interview a Kenyan has ever had to conduct. She was sloppy but so was Prezzo. No, Prezzo was plain atrocious! Bleurgh!
But everyone has had something to say about this entire mess save for Betty Kyalo herself. That was until now. The KTN news anchor has taken to Twitter to talk about the interview and what she had to say might surprise many:

 @BettyOkari
1.Just received a call from Prezzos mother, she is so remorseful over his behavior on and asks that KTN viewers forgive him.

7 Negative Thought Patterns that Destroy Motivation

Life is not always fun. Life is also unpredictable. We may lose a job or a relationship; we may not like the job we have right now. If the thought patterns are basically positive and optimistic, we hit our issues head on and push right on through them. If, however, our thought patterns are negative and pessimistic, we lie down, accept the issues as insurmountable, and have no motivation to move forward.
Here are 7 negative thinking habits that may be killing your motivation. Breaking those habits and replacing them with positive thought patterns will change your life.
Let Me Just Think About Everything that is Wrong
This is such an easy habit to fall into. Of course there are things that are “wrong” in your life. You haven’t found the right relationship or a job; you are overweight; your commute to work is too long; your kids are too demanding; the news is depressing. The list could go on and on.
Each of us, on any given day, could probably name 20 things that are “wrong.” If you have developed the negative response habit to focus on all that is wrong, you will sit and stew, and you will lose all motivation to do anything.
The Solution:
Make a list. Write it out. State everything that is good and decent about your existence right now.
Are you starving? Are you homeless? Do you have a terminal illness? Put that list in a prominent place, and start being grateful for what you do have. And you are having a problem doing that? Every time you move into that negative pattern, replace that thinking with what you have to be grateful for. Your problems will become less consuming, and you will gain motivation.
If I or It Can’t be Perfect, I Won’t Even Try
It’s a good thing to strive for perfection. It’s quite another to be happy that we produced our best, even though it was not perfect. But if we insist upon perfection, we will avoid doing things. Maybe you want a career change, and you need to go back to school to do this. But you may not end up being the top student in the program; maybe you need to look for a new job, but no open positions are exactly right, so you won’t bother to apply.
The Solution:
This is the toughest negative thought pattern to break. And it is only done in little steps.
Perhaps you enroll in only one course in school. Maybe you get an A- instead of an A. Enroll in the next course anyway. With each new acceptance of “less than perfect,” you will learn to accept more. You’ll discover that “less than perfect” can still be pretty awesome.
I Can’t Be as Good as ____ (supply name), so I Just Won’t Try
The need to compare ourselves with others comes from low self-esteem. It wastes time and leads to procrastination. Maybe a friend has started his/her own business. In the next breath, however, you say, “I could never do that.” You have just set yourself up for stagnation, striving for nothing new.
The Solution:
You have to become a risk-taker, even in small ways. You may not start your own business today, but you could produce a product and sell it on Etsy. Each little risk that meets with success will motivate you to take larger risks. This is what motivation is all about – letting the small successes move you on to bigger ones.
I’m Not Going to Set Goals Because I Never Achieve Them Anyway
If you truly believe that you can’t set goals because you can’t reach them, then you will never be motivated. People typically set lofty goals that they may not reach. But along the way, striving to meet those goals benefits others as well as themselves. If they should achieve a goal, they set a new one right away.
The Solution:
Set a small goal that will benefit others. Maybe you will get 5 friends to adopt a family for Christmas this year. Work toward that goal. Perhaps you will only get 3 friends to join in. You will see that setting goals does not always mean achieving them 100%, but 60% ain’t bad.
Once you have this type of experience, you will set goals for yourself and be satisfied if they are not achieved 100%.
My Past Mistakes were Pretty Bad – I Really Need to Feel Guilty and Be Regretful
You can ruminate on all of your past mistakes. And you will be stuck in “time,” drudging up all the guilt and regret. None of those past mistakes can act as motivators if you dwell on them and feel bad. They can only act as motivators if they spur you on to do something different now. If you feed your guilt and regret, you are “stuck” forever.
The Solution:
Can you have a re-do? In some instances you can. If you are estranged from some family members, what steps can you take to correct that? Look at each mistake about which you feel guilty or have regret. If you can fix it, do so. If not, let it go.
I Have so Many Flaws – I Really Cannot Tackle this New Challenge
This is a thought pattern that is also developed over time. It often relates to the need to be perfect. You are not capable of challenges you have, so you just shut down and don’t tackle any of them. Perhaps there is something new you must learn; maybe you will be required to interact with people you don’t know and you are not good with strangers. Avoidance is safer.
The Solution:
When you have a challenge, look at it square in the eye. Is there any part of it that you can take on? Can you find one person who can collaborate with you? Get into the company of others who are motivated and who really want to tackle this challenge. Their motivation will rub off on you. Together you can take on this challenge. Your self-confidence will grow.
I Have too Many Obligations – I Can’t Get Motivated to Take on Anything New
You are the classic “pleaser.” And you have dug a ditch for yourself. You are resentful that you are spending all of your time meeting the needs of others – actions that don’t benefit you at all. You wallow in self-pity and resentment, and there you stay. You continue to perform those actions that others expect of you, you accept your state, and you just stay there.
The Solution:
Stand in front of a mirror and practice saying the word, “No,” politely but assertively. And each time you say “no,” you get stronger. And each time you get stronger, you can think about what you want for yourself and how you get there. It’s liberating and can give you the motivation to set your own goals and priorities.
Replacing negative thought habits is hard work. You cannot do this overnight, and you may get discouraged along the way. But if you don’t work on these 7 bad habits, you will be relegated to a life of mediocrity – one that is not fulfilling and that leaves you unmotivated and unhappy.

When Hard Work Is not Enough

Hard work is a requirement in life – not just in our jobs, but also in our relationships. I always believed in the saying that “no great thing can be achieved without great sacrifice”. I viewed my losses and challenges as passing phases that would eventually lead me to where I want to be. However, there were moments when I felt frustrated and exhausted because hard work seemed to be doing nothing.
If you’ve ever felt this way, you’re not alone.
At some point, you will wonder why your efforts appear to be in vain; it’s as if the world has conspired against you despite your best intentions. However, don’t quit just yet! Hard work at this time may not be enough, BUT there are still things you could do.
1. Reflect On Your Present Life
We live such busy lifestyles today but we barely have time to sit down and think about where we’re heading. Yes, you want to be happy and successful: but is the path you’re on now leading you in that direction? Are life’s obstacles making you feel disappointed or discouraged? How long have you been stuck in a rut?
You can’t move on unless you first acknowledge that you have a problem and that you might need someone’s help to resolve it.
I remember feeling this way not so long ago. Although I looked successful in my career and relationships, deep inside, I knew my hard work was not leading me where I want to go. In fact, my persistence was digging me into a hole of disappointments, missed chances, and anxiety. I was only able to pick myself up after much quiet reflection and talking to a few close friends as well as family members about my situation.
Although your schedule’s fully booked, carve time for yourself to silently think about what you could be doing wrong. It could be a few minutes before bedtime, or during the early mornings just before the sun rises. Choose the most convenient time that works for you.
2. Write Down Your Goals
Sean Covey, son of famous author and educator Dr. Stephen Covey, mentioned in his book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens” (which I read when I was 16) that writing down your goals makes them twice as likely to come true. Why is that? Writing makes things look and feel more concrete. Plus, if you read them every day, you’ll feel more empowered to make them a reality.
I remember writing my own dreams the year after I graduated from college (the same time I was going through a tough breakup). In fact, I almost forgot about it – until about four years later. I was digging around my closet when I found the pink notebook that contained those notes. Believe it or not, out of 40, 10 of them already came true! It felt amazing. I now keep that notebook with me to tell myself to finish the rest of my goals.
After your reflection, take out a piece of paper or notebook to write down your dreams in life. Be as wild and as imaginative as you like! Remember: this is for no one else but for YOU alone. Do you want to be a standup comedian? Or maybe you plan on building your own business? Go ahead and jot them down. It’s a great way to remind yourself where you should focus your efforts on.
3. Plan A and Plan B
I really believe in hard work. It’s how we learn values like diligence, patience, and gratitude. Inasmuch as effort into something is important though, WHERE we invest our hard work is even more important.
Are you familiar with the parable of the woodcutter in the woods? A man stopped him one day as he was chopping down a tree. The man pointed out that he should spend some time sharpening his saw to complete his work faster. The woodcutter became angry and told him off. The sun set that day but the woodcutter was still not finished in cutting down that single tree.
The lesson of the story is this: don’t just work harder – work SMARTER. Had the woodcutter spent several minutes sharpening his tools, he would’ve finished his work in half the time and produced more results. Now that you have your life goals, think about how you will achieve them. Have a plan. Create alternative answers. You will undoubtedly encounter roadblocks on your way to fulfilling those dreams. If that happens, what will you do?
This applies to your problems now, too. Do you have issues at work wherein you’re putting in a lot of effort for minimum rewards? Are you working hard in keeping a partner happy but your needs are still not met? Acknowledge your predicament and think of ways to solve them.
One Day at a Time
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” – Albert Einstein
Sometimes, hard work is not enough to get us to where we want to be. We also need honesty and humility, to admit to ourselves that we’re doing something wrong. We need to be clever, to come up with answers to these problems. If your efforts are not effective, stop, think, and try something else! Do it in small steps. Be patient and take it one day at a time.
Don’t be afraid to change course. YOU are the captain of your ship and no one else. So direct your sails to the horizon only you can see.

Top 10 Effective Ways to Build Trust Within Your Team

Here are the top 10 effective ways to build trust within your team
1. Open Up
It is important to expose yourself to your team. Exposing doesn’t mean spilling your secrets to let them take advantage of you, but to make them feel that you are nothing different from the rest of your team. You should have the guts to admit your failures and demonstrate your thoughts without any hindrance.
2. Create The Circle Of Safety
The whole motive of building trust within the team is to keep the information safe in order to get desired results in the end. Treat your people like ‘human beings’ and give them a sense of security, belonging, an ultimate purpose and proper care. The first step to trust is care; the team needs to feel cared to trust you.
3. Listen Before Speaking
Always listen to the views of others with a motive to understand rather than just to reply. You should be of understanding nature at first place, if you want the team to understand you. Be a calm listener and consider other’s ideas before making the final decision. Moreover, always do what you promised otherwise they won’t be able to trust you to lead.
4. Lead The Team By Example
In most of the offices, the team members are always keeping an eye of your actions and taking cues from you. If you want your team to arrive on time, make sure to be in office on time first. Leading by example simply means that you have a good character and workers are often more inclined to trust a manager with good character record.
5. Support Your Staff
Treat the staff under you like they are the key parts of your organization. The vital factor to build employee engagement and trust is to show them support. Always be the first to back up your staff in case they have been falsely accused. These little actions will help in doubling trust.
6. Respect Your Employees
Respecting each and every person on your team is important step towards gaining the trust of your team. Just like the saying, ‘Treat others how you want to be treated.’ How can you expect trust and respect from others if you don’t practice it yourselves? No worker is going to trust you until you earn their respect.
7. Take The Hit
Make sure to take the blame, being their leader, when an undesirable outcome happens. Being a leader, it becomes your duty to take the blame for the good of the whole team even if it’s not your fault directly. Take responsibility of every good and bad action and your team will start trusting you.
8. Accept Disagreement
Accepting a false agreement is just as bad as fighting. An open discussion is the best way to solve a problem when differences in opinions arise. Explore new ways with an intention to solve the problems. The presence of disagreements means the team trusts you enough and is not afraid to tell you the truth.
9. Value Every Team Member
Every person has unique strengths and weaknesses. Find the unique strengths of every team member and use those skills for the good of your organization. Give them freedom to explore new ideas and show their creative side. Give them opportunities to learn something from every failure.
10. Praise Others
Every member of your team want to matter and you might help them in feeling important by kind words of appreciation. Appreciating and valuing another person helps in building trust at a quick pace. Keep in mind that no one ever created a win-win relationship without letting the other person win first.

How to Stop Being Absent Minded

How to Stop Being Absent Minded

1) The main reason for being absent minded is lack of focus and attention. If your mind is always busy with something else, you don’t pay attention to what you are doing at the moment.
When you are not attentive you don’t remember well what you did. This is not forgetfulness, because if your mind is somewhere else, no mental note or impression is made. If you want to stop being absent minded you need to improve your focus and control of your mind.
2) Avoid multitasking. Do one thing at a time, instead of trying to carry out several tasks simultaneously. This will make it easier to focus on what you are doing, and therefore, do it better and more efficiently.
Trying to accomplish several tasks at the same time, do not allow you to focus well on each task, and therefore, you might make errors and mistakes. When you do too many things at the same time, none of them are done particularly well.
3) Be careful not to daydream while listening to a lecture, working, reading or studying. If you catch yourself daydreaming or thinking of other matters, immediately bring back your attention to what you are doing.
4) How many hours do you sit in front of your TV screen, watching movies and other programs?
If you watch TV, and do other things at the same time, you do them absent mindedly, and therefore, inefficiently.
Watching too much TV weakens your willpower, your self-discipline, and your ability to control your thoughts.
5) Get enough sleep at night, since lack of sleep weakens your focus and attention and leads to being absent minded.
6) Avoid fretting and worrying, since they keep your mind agitated, leading to lack of attention and not being here and now. Overcoming this habit might not be so easy, but it is possible if you strive to focus on what you are doing, keep yourself busy, and try to think positively.
7) Make a list of the important tasks for each day and look at it often during the day, so you won’t forget what you need to do. Put this list in a place where you can see it often, and not with other papers on your desk, wallet or purse, where you might forget about it.
8) Boredom often leads to being inattentive. This happens in lectures, while listening to a boring conversation, or while doing a boring and monotonous work.
To avoid boredom, try to be more interested in the subject that is being discussed, ask questions in a lecture, join the conversation, or do your work in a different way. This would require your focus and your attention, making your more attentive and less absent-minded.
9) When doing work or carrying out a task that requires attention, switch off your phone or put it away, so as not to scatter your attention by texting, messaging, checking your email or conversing with friends.
10) Learn to focus on what you are doing, especially when doing a work that requires attention, doing something new, or while studying. Learning how to focus and strengthen your concentration is the best remedy against being absent minded.

12 productivity tips for extremely busy people

Here are some easy but powerful productivity tips for busy people:

1. Use a to-do list
If you already do, great. But if not, give it a try. It may be the missing piece of the puzzle.
2. Write it in the evening.
Spare a few minutes each evening before you go to bed to write down everything you need to get done tomorrow.
This way you’ll save yourself time and worries in the morning and will be able to just get to work.
3. Try a not to-do list too
It’s the opposite of the to-do one and Tim Ferriss swears by its benefits.
Simply write down bad habits and behaviors you’re trying to avoid, or things you often find yourself doing but which are unproductive.
This way you’ll be more mindful of them and will save precious time. This may seem like a small victory in the short-term, but after a month you’ll realize you can dedicate more time to what’s actually giving results.
4. Set deadlines
Freedom and independence are what we’re all after. Freelancing, entrepreneurship and working from home are things that give us a lot of that. But we are the ones who need to build discipline here. If we don’t, distractions and procrastination will get in the way.
So set deadlines even when you don’t have to.
Keep in mind Parkinson’s law: “work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion”.
5. Define your MITs
These are your Most Important Tasks.
If you take a closer look at your to-do list, you’ll notice that some activities, tasks and projects are more important than others. They will get you closer to your goals, will help you improve yourself, will let you see progress, or help others in some way. So it’s worth focusing on them first.
Put them on the top of your to-do list so that you can prioritize.
6. Start with them first thing in the morning
Then, once you wake up (and do your morning routine, if you have one), begin working on them right away.
That will give you the momentum to keep going, will make you feel productive and give you a sense of accomplishment early in the day.
And that’s how big life goals are achieved eventually. By putting them before anything else and taking action upon them daily.
7. Review your day
Take some time in the end of the day to analyze how it went.
Think of how long each activity took, and whether it could have been finished faster and executed better.
Then, think of how you can improve your performance.
8. 80/20 your time
The 80/20 rule is in fact Pareto’s principle, and it states that “roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes”.
It can be applied to any area of life. In our case – productivity and time management – we can analyze the 20% of the things on our to-do list that will actually give us 80% of the results, and can eliminate the rest and dedicate more focused time on these.
9. Single task
Most people can’t really focus on one thing at a time. But it’s crucial if you want to do your best and get things done faster.
So start single tasking. Pay your full attention to one activity. And move onto the next when you’re done.
10. Automate decisions
Busy people have important things to do, often many of them. But they also have to run errands, meet with people, do daily chores and stuff at home, etc.
One way to save time and instead invest it in meaningful things, is to automate some of your daily decisions.
For example, have a set time for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And eat the same meals every day.
Most people waste a lot of time trying to decide what to eat, prepare it and clean after that. Eliminate all that so that you can focus on productive work with the help of the process of automation.
It’s a great technique to simplify life too.
11. Outsource
If your time is expensive and is better spent in communicating with clients instead of doing some online tasks, for instance, delegate that.
Hire a VA and let him do the work and small tasks you can’t go without but which you don’t need to do yourself. And dedicate that time to better things.
12. Use productivity tools
There are plenty of tools and softwares out there – free and paid – that will make your life easier.
Find the ones that work best for you and use them daily. Either to organize work tasks, to connect with clients and employees/employers, to block distractions, keep track of deadlines, manage people, or else.
Once you start following the advice in this list for extremely busy people, you’ll also start seeing great changes in your work, life and mindset.
What other productivity techniques do you know that work and can help busy people do more in less time?

LG put a TV on the back of its TV

What's better than an LG OLED TV? Two LG OLED TVs, sandwiched together. Having already wowed CES audiences with its rollable, newspaper-like OLED panel, LG Display today also gave us a look at some of its other quirky innovations. Among them is the 55-inch "dual-view" flat screen, which is actually two separate displays, spliced together so that there's no actual back — both sides display video. The whole thing is just 4.9mm thick, with scant bezels around the edges and a feeling of kickass futurism all over.
This display is intended for use in digital signage, and it's easy to see how it can replace those two-monitor setups at airports that provide flight information. That being said, it's still fun to imagine it figuring as an eccentric piece of home decor in a particularly opulent abode. It can accept two separate sources, one for each side, and offers a double serving of 1080p OLED goodness. What's not to like?

Razor promises its Hovertrax hoverboard won't catch fire or explode

The hoverboard was undeniably the breakout gadget of 2015. So it's only fair the self-balancing two-wheeled scooters would show up in full force here at CES 2016, and Razor's Hovertrax is among the most talked about models in the category. That's because the brand known still for its handlebar toy scooters says its the only company legally allowed to sell hoverboards in the US thanks to an exclusive licensing agreement it inked earlier this year.
Luckily, Razor's version seems pretty good — and relatively cheap at $599.99 compared with the many $1,200 to $1,500 models out there. Also, the company wants you to know its model won't spontaneously combust under your feet.
Razor says its Hovertrax won't burn your house down
We gave the Hovertrax DLX a quick try in a corner of a Wynn hotel ballroom that was thankfully carpeted. The DLX differs from Razor's standard hoverboard because of a "high-tech smoke chrome finish" and blue LED lights. While it's hard to discern the nuances of hoverboard quality, the company claims its product is among the best, even if it is suing competitors to keep them from selling their own.
Research and development chief Bob Hadley says Razor clearly copied what was in the market, but then had its supply chain experts carefully vet every component choice. The company sourced batteries from Samsung, and made sure all the wiring wouldn't result in some catastrophic meltdown. "A lot of those hastily assembled ones don't have that," he adds. Hadley says Razor's licensing of inventor Shane Chen's hoverboard patent ensures it has access to the best design schematics. "We're trying to take an item and fine tune the supply chain to make it reliable," he says. Of course, take that with a grain of salt.

Could Zeiss make iPhoneography even better? The optics company is collaborating with ExoLens to develop a series of Zeiss-branded mobile lenses for its iPhone interchangeable lens bracket system.
There’s no denying that add-on lenses for smartphones are popular, but don’t necessarily improve on the camera’s image quality. The Zeiss-ExoLens lenses, which include macro, telephoto, and wide-angle, use Zeiss optics design, which is known for quality. Made out of black anodized aluminum, they are specially coated to reduce reflections and light transmission, but they use the same mounting system as existing ExoLens variants, which screw onto a metal bracket slips onto the iPhone (6/6S and 6 Plus/6S Plus).

Lenovo has decided to diversify its ThinkPad X1 series into many products and at this years CES we saw around three variants of the same. The post First Impressions: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet brings something new to the table appeared first on Tech2.

Fitbit's new fitness watch looks slightly better in person

Fitbit announced Blaze, a new "smart" fitness watch that tracks a bunch of different activities. And the immediate reaction to the watch was mixed.
Some of our Verge readers and Twitter followers said it looked way too big. Others saw it as an attempt to compete with Apple Watch. Investors didn't love it, either; the company's stock nosedived after the announcement.
We got some hands on time with the Blaze today at CES and got a closer look at some of its features. It's the first Fitbit to have a color LCD display, but it's also not a unibody watch. It consists of a pop-out tracker that you can pop into other bands and frames. It has optical heart rate sensors, but no built-in GPS.
It's still not a very attractive watch. It is big, especially on my wrists.
But it's at least and lighter than the Fitbit Surge (one person at Fitbit's CES booth pointed out that it fit in the sleeve of his button-downs, unlike the Surge). It manages to cram a lot of features into a non-smartwatch smart watch, too.
