Do something-Do not wait for a miracle to change your life
Are you waiting for a miracle to change your life?
Sometimes, miracles do happen, but why wait for them? Why not be responsible for your life and start making things happen?
Why stay passive, do nothing, and wait for something outside of your control to improve your life?
You can start improving your life, right now, and not wait for a miracle to happen.
There are people who are passive, doing nothing to better their life, always waiting to win the lottery or get rich out of the blue. A day comes and a day goes and they stay at the same place in their lives.
There are also people that know they have to rely on themselves, and
not just wait, hope and wish for something to happen one day.
If want to get results, do something to get them. Complaining and resenting circumstances and situations will get you nowhere.
If you start thinking how you want your life to be, what you want to, and what you want to have, you might be surprised to discover that many of those things are within you reach.
When you know what you want, make plans, adopt a positive attitude and take action, your life would start changing.
Instead of just hoping and wishing for a miracle, you can start producing, what might seem as “miracles” to other people.
Planning, together with visualization, affirmations and persistence will create, what people call miracles.
What is the definition of a miracle?
A miracle is defined as “An extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment.”
This definition can describe a lot of success stories, so are they miracles, or the results of extraordinary actions on the part of the people experiencing the “miracles”?
Success could sometimes happen in a miraculous way, but most of these miracles are the result of a certain way of thinking and attitude, which you can learn and adopt.
You can start making what seem to be miracles. This is something within your reach, and would start happening when you learn to visualize and to affirm. This will create for you opportunities, will open doors, and attract to you the things you want.

Motivating Others Will Motivate You in the Process
Motivation is a difficult thing to nail down. We can see the results of it – people dig in and work toward a goal unceasingly until they achieve it; they are given a task at work and they attack it with energy; athletes endure torturous practices to compete and win.
We can also see the lack of it. People burn up an entire weekend in bed or watching TV neglecting tasks around the house; they are given tasks at work and they procrastinate; they have no goals. And that seems to be the biggest factor in motivation – having goals for today, for next week, next month and next year.
We can help others who are not motivated by very specific methods, and we should, if only for a very selfish reason. When we work to motivate others, we end up motivating ourselves as well. Here are some things that all of us can do.
Ask Open-Ended Questions of the Unmotivated Person
When you ask such questions as, “Is there something you have always wanted to do, for how long have you wanted to do this, why do you want to do this?”
Help the Unmotivated Person Devise a Plan
This type of planning is particularly hard for a person who is recovering from a setback – a job loss, a divorce, bankruptcy. But making a plan is the first step to getting motivation back again because the individual can see something on paper with specific steps to take. Sometimes, it really is a matter of seeing that first step so you can begin.
Most of the time of step one of any plan will involve some self-education. Whether someone wants to change careers, pursue a hobby, travel, become a better partner, or start a new business, there will be the experience of new learning.
Success in learning something new brings confidence, and confidence is absolutely critical for motivation.
As you encourage an unmotivated person to take that educational path, you may realize that you must take that first step as well. So, together you look for the resources to learn what you need to – you register for that online course or seminar; you join a group that can help you learn. The excitement grows.
Teach the Unmotivated Person to Visualize
What is the end result when the goal is reached? Any goal? Encourage the person to describe the end point when the goal is achieved. Where will she/he be? What will she/he be doing? What will she/he be wearing and look like? Who else will be there?
As you teach someone else to visualize, you realize how rusty your own visualization is, and you are motivated to get back to that great practice once again. And whenever any negative thought patterns bubble up (I can’t do this; what will others think; I’m too busy with other things), that visualization can dispel them pretty quickly.
Provide the Encouragement to Keep the Ball Rolling
There may be several steps to achieving the goal, and staying motivated is tough. Checking in with the individual with lots of praise for current success, and encouragement to move forward to the next step, is important. And every time you check in with that person, you will also automatically be checking in with yourself.
Be the Energizing Force
Lack of motivation is coupled with a lack of energy. Even if you do not have buckets full of energy, you must act the part.
If someone wants to open his/her own flower shop or pet store, and you feel that they are waning in motivation, you be the one to knock on that door with 3-4 potential sites to go look at.
Here is what will happen to you. Generating that energy will actually give you energy, the energy that will make you want to go home and see what the next step in your own plan is and how you can take it.
Motivation must be nurtured daily. It is nurtured by having a plan, immersing oneself in new experiences and learning, visualizing the end goal, and maintaining an energy level that gets things done. When you work to motivate someone else, you will find yourself nurturing your own motivation too.
Oh, and you’ll become a motivational super hero. Time to get a cape!
How to Create a Positive Mindset: 6 Strategies to Overcome Negative Thoughts
Your perception of reality is founded upon the beliefs that you’ve adopted about yourself and the way the world works, and your beliefs create your thoughts, whether they are positive, or negative. These beliefs have a tremendous impact on your circumstances.
Your beliefs affect your thoughts, emotions, habits, and actions. Due to the fact that our level of success in life is the sum of our habits and actions, it’s easy to see how important it is that our beliefs are in order first.
Interestingly, many of your beliefs are either unfounded, or were founded a long time ago, when circumstances turned sour in some way, and you allowed those circumstances to shape your reality.
It is common for this to happen as early in life as childhood. Things happen to us, we adopt a belief that it is ‘just the way it is’, and we use similar events later in life as proof to fuel that belief.
Often, even when we can’t find new evidence to support our belief system, we’ve been practicing the beliefs for so long that they – and the emotions that come with them – become a habit.
1. Examine your beliefs. Write down the beliefs that are holding you back, such as, “Money doesn’t grow on trees”, or “I’m not enough”, and then question them. Where did you get this belief? Where are you finding evidence to support it? Because habits play such a major role in our level of success, and your negative thoughts are a habit for you now, you need to face them head-on.
2. Create new beliefs. Just as smoking or drinking is easier to replace rather than get rid of, you need to make new beliefs to replace your old ones. Example (Money doesn’t grow on trees): I know that there is an unlimited wealth of money that anyone has the potential to pursue if they work for it.
4. Start and end your day by experiencing gratitude. It’s easy to focus on what you don’t have. The more you look at what you lack, the more lack you will find. Instead, spend a few minutes in the morning and before bed to list your blessings, however small. By focusing on the positive, you’ll brighten your mood and increase the number of good things that come into your life.
5. Change your default reaction to your mistakes or challenges. You possess the power to feel any way you want about every situation solely by how you react to it. It’s no different than when a toddler stumbles and scrapes his knee, he is more likely to go back to playing and act as if nothing happened, so long as an adult does not indulge him with the opportunity to cry by creating unnecessary drama.
6. Learn to meditate. Meditation has many physical and mental benefits. It can reduce stress, strengthen your health, and bring you clarity and focus. You can use the concentration during meditation to find all of your limiting beliefs and replace them. Make meditation a priority over other habits that you’re filling your day with that keep you busy but not productive.
Most of us believe we’re victims of our circumstances, but we’re actually victims of our own thinking. Changing your inner world is the key to changing your outer world!
The Dividing Line Between Optimism and Irrational Behavior
Optimism is a positive attitude that brings sunshine into one’s life. Everything looks different and promising when you are an optimist, and problems and difficulties look less severe.
With an optimistic state of mind you expect and believe that your plans would turn out well, and this increases your chances of success.
With an optimistic state of mind you become a happier person, and more fun to be with.
Sometimes, however, optimism goes too far, and one can cross the line from optimism, to irrational thinking and irrational expectations. Believing that everything would be okay, taking risks without thinking first, and not using common sense could lead to loss and problems.
Optimism and Irrational Behavior
Be an optimistic person, but also be a cautious person. Going out without a coat on a very cold day is not a wise thing to do. You may believe you will not catch a cold, but this is not something wise to do.It is irrational and irresponsible behavior to believe you will find your way in a place you have never been, without using a map or asking for directions
It is irrational and irresponsible behavior to drive with almost no fuel and not to enter a gas station, believing that somewhere later on your way you will find another gas station.
It’s great to be optimistic and believe you will achieve great success when you start a business, but before starting, you need to make plans, make financial calculations, and know who your competitors are.
Optimism becomes an asset, when you believe in yourself and expect the best, but at the same time you use common sense, act wisely, and take positive action. With this attitude, you see the road ahead and are aware of the risks, but you are confident and positive, and allow nothing to stand on your way.
Mere optimism, without taking action is not enough and could lead could to disappointment. To ensure that your optimistic attitude helps you make the positive changes you are expecting, you should be a doer, not just a dreamer.
Always be aware of the fine line dividing between optimism and irrational behavior and take care not to cross it. Allow optimism, but also common sense.
Remember, there is rational optimism and there is irrational optimism. Be careful of what you choose.
“Optimism is essential to achievement and it is also the foundation of courage and true progress.”
– Nicholas M. Butler
“One of the things I learned the hard way was that it doesn’t pay to get discouraged. Keeping busy and making optimism a way of life can restore your faith in yourself.”
– Lucille Ball
“The most fearless hearts, the audacious dreamers, have always maintained a sense of optimism that often flies in the face of the available evidence.”
– Martin O’Malley

How to Be Yourself and Cultivate a Positive Self-Image
Be yourself. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve heard this phrase in the movies, songs and books I’ve encountered. And I have to admit I never really understood what it meant all this time. Until recently.
There’s more to this phrase than what you think. Sure, you know yourself better than any other person. You know what you like and dislike, you understand your feelings, and you can most probably say that you are your own best friend.
Yet why do you still frown when you see the mirror. Why do you keep comparing yourself to other people? Why do you fail to see your strengths as a person?
This is the moment where you are actually being far from yourself. You are not being you. You are being what others expect you to be. You are living up to other’s expectations, not yours. And thus, you feel discontented, unhappy and emotionally weak.
Be yourself, and follow your passion
Most young professionals get into high paying jobs to fulfill their ego, and make their parents proud of how much they earn. Unknowingly making their life miserable by being in a job they hate.
It is easy to lie to yourself, masquerade happiness by pretentious Facebook posts, and live a life of quiet desperation. People see one another in terms of job title and salary, like it’s the very essence of self-worth.
Instead be yourself, feed your mind, soul and spirit. Cultivate passion and love with work you have fun doing, whatever fun means to you.
Be yourself, no matter who you face
Embrace your personality. No matter how different you can be. If you are an awkward introvert like me, a spontaneous extrovert, a cool ambivert, these labels don’t really matter because you are who you think and feel.
Be yourself, and tune in to your feelings
The state of being at peace with yourself is achieved by tuning in to your feelings. This makes you strong even at the face of discord or stress.
Being in tune with your feeling involves understanding yourself in times of anger, sadness, happiness or fear. You acknowledge all this emotions with no denial and full acceptance.
When you are mad, you try your best to stay calm and gain composure. When you are sad, you understand that it is part of life, and that to better appreciate happy moments, we must know sadness. And when you’re in fear, you find the root cause of your fear and deal with it by changing your mindset.
Be yourself, and trust your intuition
People always think that wise decisions are those that are practical and purposeful. But sometimes it isn’t. If you always make decisions based on what you think is right, not what you feel is right, then, you are going to have a bad time achieving harmony

A FOOD FOR THOUGHT: WILL COMPUTERIZED VOICES EVER SOUND HUMAN?
As the New York Times reports, the relatively new focus area of “conversational agents” in the little-understood field of human-computer interaction design, seeks to build programs that understand language and are also able to respond to commands. Today, it is impossible for a computer’s voice to be rendered indistinguishable from that of a human’s. At least, not for anything more complex than offering short bits of information — whether it’ll rain, for example, or when to turn left.
Part of the issue lies in “prosody,” which is the capacity to correctly enunciate or stress certain syllables — saying words the way an actual human would. And of course, there’s also the uniquely human ability to add emotion into pronunciation. After all, we don’t always say “good” or even “left” in the same way. Machines, on the other hand, have yet to master that nuance.
The problem is we don’t have good controls over how we say to these synthesizers, ‘Say this with feeling,’” Scottish computer scientist and Carnegie Mellon professor Alan Black told the Times. And it may still be some time before we’re actually able to do this at all.
But that might not be a bad thing, some say. “Jarring is the way I would put it,” Brian Langner, senior speech scientist at digital speech company ToyTalk, said about having machines sound too much like humans. “When the machine gets some of those things correct, people tend to expect that it will get everything correct.”
So no, you probably won’t be able to get Siri to sound like your mom anytime soon. But you may want to enjoy that inability while you can.
THE IPHONE WILL SOON BE A MORE CAPABLE REPLACEMENT FOR THE APPLE TV REMOTE
Shortly after the release of the fourth-generation Apple TV, the company updated itsApple Remote app to make certain tasks like entering passwords less painful, but compared to the actual remote, functionality is limited. Later this year, the app is going to get much more useful.
Apple is currently working a new Remote app for the iPhone, Apple’s Eddy Cue and Craig Federighi told John Gruber in an interview on his podcast, The Talk Show. Unlike the current app, Federighi said the new app is “really a full replacement” for the hardware remote, offering all of its functionality from Siri to trackpad gestures.
This even includes gaming, including the ability to use the iPhone as a second controller in two player games. “Remote for one person, phone for one person,” Cue said.
Neither Cue nor Federighi mentioned a specific release window for the new remote app, but it doesn’t seem that we’ll have to wait for too long, as it was mentioned that the app is expected to be released in “a couple of months. The interview is quite revealing considering Apple’s reputation for keeping its plans tightly under wraps. In addition to talk of the upcoming remote app, Cue and Federighi shined light on subscriber numbers for both Apple Music and iCloud.
The updated remote app isn’t the only way that controlling the Apple TV is getting simpler this year. Last week the beta for tvOS 9.2 was updated, adding support for voice dictation, making entering information like user names and passwords much easier than with the standard remote. There is no word on when exactly the update is coming, but it’s expected to arrive sometime this spring.
The full interview includes other interesting tidbits, like the upcoming Bluetooth keyboard support in tvOS 9.2. To listen, head over to Gruber’s website Daring Fireball. The discussion of the new Remote app starts around 22 minutes in.
Apple Music has more than 11 million subscribers, executives confirm
Last month the Financial Times cited a source reporting that Apple Music had topped 10 million subscribers. It seems the source was well-informed, as a recent interview with Apple executives Eddy Cue and Craig Federighi shows.
In fact, the company “just passed over 11 million Apple Music subscribers,” Cue told John Gruber on his podcast, The Talk Show. These weren’t the only numbers shared, as Cue also said that the company has 782 million iCloud users, who upload billions of photos to the service each week.
If the user base continues to grow at this rate, it seems likely that Apple Music could top 20 million users by the end of the year, just as the Financial Times estimated last month. This would put the service within striking distance of Spotify, which currently boasts over 20 million subscribers but has had much longer to build its custom .The subscriber numbers weren’t the only interesting tidbits shared in the interview. As Digital Trends has reported elsewhere, Cue and Federighi revealed to Gruber that Apple is currently working on an overhauled Apple Remote app which, once released, will allow an iPhone to work as a “full replacement” for the remote included with the Apple TV, even working as a second controller for two-player games.
The two executives also talked about the new dictation feature coming in tvOS 9.2, saying that it’s a feature that Apple wanted to include from the very start. Unfortunately, no release information for the update, currently in beta, was given.
The interview wasn’t all about cold hard facts, however. Cue also took a moment to tease Apple CEO Tim Cook’s infamous blurry Super Bowl photo, which he deleted shortly afterward due to relentless trolling on Twitter. “He’s a huge sports fan, and was loving it, and he loved that his team actually won the Super Bowl,” Cue said.
For the full interview, listen to the full podcast, which is available at Daring Fireball.

10 Useful Habits that Will Increase Your Productivity
Many of our habits are there for no other reason than the fact we failed to resist them. This is not always a bad thing, for example, if you are habitually a competitive person, then this may be turned to your advantage to make you more productive.
Here are ten habits, both nurtured and self-imposed, that you may use to help you become more productive.
A tendency towards planning
People that plan tend to be far more productive than people that do not. It is a broad and sweeping statement, but even something as simple as habitually setting deadline for each task, will help make you more productive. If you ally that with pre-activity planning sessions, you may find yourself more efficient and ergo more productive.
Habitual but controlled analysis
Beware of paralysis by analysis, but with that said, there is a lot of power in analyzing what you are doing and why. It is the reason so many smokers seem to do well in high-powered positions. Smoking takes them out of the moment for a few minutes and allows them to reflect on what they are doing and if it is the right course of action.
A consideration for cleanliness
Counterproductive people and unproductive workers tend to live and work in dirty, messy and/or unorganized conditions. Does one cause the other; is it due to a lack of positive habits? Whatever the reason, you should consider cleanliness as a priority and create habits to keep your work area clean so that it doesn’t interfere with your productivity.
Efficiency should be your goal
Your goal should be to do as much as possible in the shortest possible time without waste. It is true that quality should be your top priority, but sometimes quality should be allowed to suffer for the sake of getting a job done on time. Get into the habit of striking a good balance between the quality of your output and the amount of time (and resources) it consumes.
Taking pleasure in the accomplishment of a goal
Get into the habit of feeling happy when you accomplish a goal, and you may find that you take more pleasure in the process. If anything, this may help your motivation and morale.
The habit of being competitive
Competitive people tend to excel for the simple reason that they have a lot of motivation. They are motivated by their lust for being first or winning.
Such a base primitive urge has a lot of power: ergo, if you are in the habit of being competitive, then turn that habit into a powerful tool. The other person/people you are competing with do not even have to know you are competing with them. It is an internal process that you leverage to become more productive and efficient.
Time management
Your productive time is the time during the day in which you may work and be productive. It is not necessarily the time you spend at work, though one hopes your workday has productive time in it.
Time is a valuable resource, and your productive time should be spent cautiously and managed wisely if you wish to remain productive.
The ability to work well with others
The most productive people are the ones that work in teams. From the days of Henry Ford creating cars, to the days where top rated animated shows have episodes created within six days, teamwork creates productivity.
Budget management
A productive person is one that is able to take what resources are available and achieve a task with as little expenditure as possible, with the least amount of time spent as possible.
It is difficult to know and understand how many resources are being used if you are unable to manage and maintain a budget. Building a good budgeting habit may be a great idea.
A willingness to perpetually improve
Only through perpetual improvement, usually via trial and error testing, will you achieve a long-term productive state. Creating and maintaining the habit of trying to improve yourself has limitless power. It makes you a stronger and more productive person as you age, and one hopes that is the goal for most people.
